@PhoebeM698 This would be great for project based learning in raising more awareness in #recycling and initiating it with a whole school approach. This instigates a positive outcome for students as we can implement this into units to gain knowledge on #sustainability issues. #reuse
@PhoebeM698 Plastic wrap is a key environmental issue when we link it to our children’s lunches. It is affordable and easy to use but is disposed after a single use. @WWF notes that at current production rates there will be 12m tonnes of plastic in our landfill and environment by 2050.
@PhoebeM698 I do think that an investigative unit project on sustainable futures which can allow students to use their research and inquiry skills. This will support their learning on future living and identifying these key issues to their parents would be the right direction.
@PlasticFreeJuly is only a couple months away! Jump on this great initiative to implement in our schools in helping our community #reduce our single use plastic usage and living a little “greener” #UoNTeach#sustainability
@PhoebeM698 Number 4 is a key issue within schools currently and something a lot of teachers are advocating to change from single use plastics. @kurt_lomas tweeted a resource about single use plastics which highlighted students making their own bags to tackle this issue!
Lithium-ion batteries are major in our electronic devices such as phones, laptops and desktops. Effective #recycling can #reduce the carbon footprint of their production immensely. #UoNTeach#sustainability
@CarlieSjostedt A helpful reminder and indicator for students to think of how they can help shape their future in a simple and more positive manner! Looking at providing ourselves with a more #sustainable future as well!
