A bit of a personal post, not for attention but because this is something I've been processing for the last 6 months.
Finding out later in life that I have ADHD and I'm potentially autistic has been a lot to process.
Not because it changed who I am, but because it made me look back at my whole life differently.
I spent years thinking I was lazy yet too hyperactive , too emotional yet too clinical, too much yet not enough, or just bad at being an adult. I kept wondering why things that seemed so easy for everyone else felt so hard for me.
Having both ADHD and autism is exhausting. One part of me craves routine, the other struggles to stick to it. I want to be around people, then I get overwhelmed and need to disappear. It often feels like my brain is pulling in two different directions.
But it's not all negatives.
The same brain that struggles with everyday things also sees patterns in data that other people miss. I spot connections that others don't, and when something genuinely interests me, I can disappear down a rabbit hole for hours and come back with ideas or solutions I wouldn't have found any other way.
The diagnosis brought relief, but it also brought grief. Grief for the younger me who spent so many years blaming herself for things she never understood and self medicating to shut down the noise in her brain.
I'm not sharing this because I'm looking for sympathy. I'm sharing it because I know there are other women and girls out there still wondering why they've always felt different. If this sounds familiar, maybe you're not as alone as you thinkโค๏ธ
I love all these dorks on the internet whoโve never played sports before talking about their injuries in comparison to a pro athlete. For the love of all things holy please shut the fuck up.
@cosmoksmom@amelia_tweetz No itโs not. Millions of people effectively use it. Those who get tied in the debt spiral are either ignorant or in some unfortunate situation but most because of their spending habits.
@cosmoksmom@amelia_tweetz Fine. Rather than trying to understand how it all works, just keep complaining and blaming the system. It will certainly help your score go up.
Just shows how little you know about Vegas and the community here. Not liking desert and hot weather is completely understandable. Itโs not for some people. Everything else, makes zero sense. Been here for 20 years and love it. Great places around for hiking, water sports and even skiing in winters less than an hour drive. Great restaurants, sports events, concerts all year long. No state tax. No parking cost/issues. Lovely city. Safe.
