1 - I want to share my experience as a (very very minor) participant in @ConstitutionDAO because it was a very meaningful experience for me, and I think it's instructive esp for my non-crypto friends.
BREAKING: USMNT star Folarin Balogun will be available to play the USMNT’s round of 16 match against Belgium, according to a report from @TheAthletic.
Balogun's one-game red-card punishment has been suspended according to the report, FIFA and USMNT have yet to comment on the news.
Reposting my prayer for a free Iran, which I shared a few weeks ago.
Now war has begun. I don’t know how this will play out. Or how it will end.
Even so, I still pray for a free Iran — and for the Persian people to retake their rightful place under the sun. #FreeIran 💚🤍❤️
Hard to believe it's been almost two years since I wrote about Aleo: https://t.co/4lneXK2BnT
They launched their zero-knowledge L1 yesterday, a huge feat.
The thing that brainwormed me on zK is that they use math to eliminate trade-offs. Excited to see what people do with it.
Aleo network is live 🔥
Aleo introduces a new model for decentralized computation that combines confidentiality and scalability. Traditionally, blockchains have suffered from one big limitation: they are fully transparent by design. This is because trust requires verification. Transactions on a blockchain need to be transparent so that everyone can verify that they are correct.
Aleo's breakthrough is to use cutting edge cryptography in the form of zero knowledge proofs to create a blockchain that is privacy-preserving while still being fully verifiable. This is an important feature, not just because it protects users’ personal data, but also because it extends the design space for application developers. There are things that can be built on Aleo that are simply impossible to build on a transparent blockchain.
A few examples: (1) payment systems that are private, scalable, and compliant; (2) identity systems that allow people to prove who they are without unnecessarily leaking information; (3) on-chain games that require hidden information in order to be fun; and many others.
Huge congrats to the team and ecosystem for all of the hard work that has led to this moment. Fired up for what's to come.
Congratulations to BA member @AleoHQ on the launch of Aleo Mainnet, which empowers developers to create the next wave of decentralized applications driven by zero-knowledge cryptography. This launch is another example of the industry introducing privacy solutions to the mainstream, and we could not be more excited about their continued work.
ZKPs are a powerful cryptographic primitive that we believe have much unrealized potential. Congrats @AleoHQ for launching a ZKP-powered L1 to support use cases across payments, identity, and data privacy—all of which demand both scalability and security. Special s/o to @1HowardWu, whose work on ZEXE and decentralized computation formed the backbone of the Aleo architecture, and @apruden08 on this milestone!
Congratulations to the @AleoHQ team and the entire ecosystem of developers, validators, and provers for their relentless commitment to bringing this ZK L1 into the world!
Aleo represents a new paradigm — one that enables scalability, confidentiality, and interoperability for decentralized applications.
I’m proud to have seen this community turn this vision into a reality. And today marks the beginning of the next chapter for this dedicated ecosystem of ZK builders, researchers, and innovators!
“In a world where data breaches and privacy violations have become the norm, zero-knowledge is crucial for taking back the confidentiality of our personal data.” 🔥
Aleo’s mainnet launch is a step toward reshaping both blockchains and our digital identities. Congrats team on this milestone!
After five years of building, the day has finally come. There have been many twists and turns, many victories and setbacks, but we did it.
I've been proud to lead this team to this point. But to be clear, this accomplishment wouldn't have been possible without the work of dozens of employees, hundreds of ambassadors, and thousands of community members. But I'd like to give a special shoutout to @1HowardWu, @secparam, @matthew_d_green, @zkproofs, Sean B, and Alessandro C. for giving birth to this dream by authoring the Zexe paper in 2018.
I couldn't be more excited about what comes next and to see what developers build now that @AleoHQ is live.
A good analogy for this is when we figured out how to encrypt credit card information to allow for secure purchases online. It enabled an entire generation of innovation and application.
I've long believed that use cases in decentralized computing (esp identity) have been limited by the inability to secure confidential data - e.g., you can't put your passport or healthcare data on a blockchain. The Aleo mainnet--which is now live and decentralized--solves that.
Second, by reducing the number of websites that record/store your personal information, society can vastly reduce the number of data honey pots that are constantly being hacked by bad guys. In many cases, the companies holding this data don't even want it.
It's great to see such high quality teams come together. Some of the most fundamental work of the next decade will be making the internet a safer and more secure place, from deterring bad actors and data hacks to combatting fake/misleading AI-generated content.
Security is critical for the widespread adoption of blockchain technologies. We're excited to be a founding member of @Crypto_ISAC, a not-for-profit created to address the security challenges of today to build a better tomorrow.

In the era of AI, the concept of "provenance" becomes increasingly complex, creating a huge opportunity to use blockchain technology to create a transparent and secure system of provenance that helps us differentiate between human-generated and machine-generated content.
