I had a guy in my Army Reserve unit whose civilian job was to clean up death scenes.
Every month we'd gather 'round to hear his grisly stories. Things like, 5 people drank too much in their hot tub, passed out and died... and weren't found for over a week!
One story was a 700lb man who was cremated. He started a grease fire because the bucket that catches the "drippings" backed up into the combustion chamber.
He said the worst part is that the crematorium was right next to a KFC and he started wondering where they got their grease from?
A few months before the divorce, I secretly started my own business. Something small, but with real potential. I used the quiet to focus. Hustled behind the scenes. And when everything hit the fan for him... my business exploded. , I got a new condo, fully paid. A new car, in my name. And a peace he'll never know again. The last time I saw him, he looked broken. He asked if we could talk. I smiled and said, "Sure... but you'll need to schedule it through my assistant."He wanted a war. I gave him silence. And in the end? I won everything. I felt so liberated
@DGlaucomflecken Yes. Just like you don’t want to eat a soufflé made by someone that hates to cook, please stop forcing those of us that aren’t interested and *good* at it doing needless research!!
@_hxrrybxtt I have no idea why this popped into my feed (and I’m probably dating myself) but I once heard “25 minutes too late” played at a wedding. Horrifying.
@doclauravater 💯!! The lack of proper off days definitely do not help as well. I routinely start to question if life is really worth living after working 19 days straight. Then I have a blessed weekend off, a good night’s sleep and then suddenly things look brighter again.
@StevieBhoy1985 Not sure why this popped into my feed, but I would like to say GO FOR IT!
I have done many trips as a female solo traveller and it’s well worth it.
@olsonplanner Definitely not. Random colleagues text me about patients even when I’m 8 time zones away. Also, I always end up worrying about some of the sick / symptomatic patients when I’m home
