If audiences are rejecting a film, why keep trying to convince people that it’s a massive success?

Many viewers are sharing negative public reviews across social media, pointing out why the film didn’t work for them. Yet every day, new posters celebrate huge box office numbers, creating a very different narrative.

Many moviegoers are also claiming they experienced nearly empty theatres while seeing shows that appeared heavily booked on ticketing platforms. If that’s true, the audience deserves transparency. Real public support cannot be manufactured through marketing, promotions, influencer campaigns, celebrity endorsements, or any perception of artificial demand.

Instead of spending enormous amounts on PR, promotions, and star-driven campaigns, why not invest that money in a stronger script and better storytelling? A great film earns respect from the audience—not from posters, headlines, or publicity.

You can’t force people to love a product they don’t enjoy. Genuine audiences, genuine fans, and genuine respect can never be bought. If the product is weak, accept the criticism, learn from it, and come back with something better.

People aren’t asking for hype—they’re asking for honesty.

The audience decides. Not PR. Not marketing. Not manufactured perception.

The Lalru Bus Massacre (July 6, 1987)

The Incident: On the night of July 6, 1987, a Haryana Roadways bus departed from Chandigarh heading toward Rishikesh. Near Lalru village in the Mohali district of Punjab, militants trailing the vehicle in a white car and a truck forced the bus to stop.

The Attack: Approximately five to seven armed men belonging to the Terrorist group Khalistan Commando Force (KCF) boarded the vehicle. They took control of the bus, drove it to a secluded area, looted the passengers, and opened indiscriminate fire with automatic weapons.

Casualties: 38 passengers including men, women, and children were killed, and 33 others were injured. One of the terrorists was also accidentally shot and killed by his own accomplices during the chaos.

- Google a man named A.S. Atwal. He was a DIG who entered the Golden Temple unarmed and was shot dead by extremists who had illegally taken over the holy site. His body was left on the stairs of the Golden Temple, and no one dared to pick it up.

-Dhilwan (1983): 6 passengers murdered because they were Hindus .

- Muktsar & Hoshiarpur (1986): 39 innocent lives lost in separate targeted bus ambushes.

- Lalru & Fatehabad (July 1987): A horrific 48 hours where Khalistan Commando Force terrorists slaughtered 72 Hindu passengers, including women and children, across three buses.

Why stop with one incident only and a narrative of one side?
