उत्तर प्रदेश में जौनपुर शहर के 12.2 किमी लंबाई वाले 4-लेन वेस्टर्न बाईपास के निर्माण के लिए 944.19 करोड़ रुपए की लागत के साथ स्वीकृति दी गई है, जिसमें दोनों तरफ सर्विस रोड/स्लिप रोड शामिल हैं।

यह परियोजना मार्ग एक कंटीन्यूअस रिंग रोड बनाकर जौनपुर के क्षेत्रीय सड़क नेटवर्क में मिसिंग लिंक को पूरा करेगा। यह पश्चिमी तरफ राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग-731 और उत्तरी तरफ राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग-135A के बीच बिना रुकावट कनेक्टिविटी प्रदान करेगा। साथ ही राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग-31 पर मौजूदा जौनपुर बाईपास और राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग-31, राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग-135A, राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग-128A और राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग-731 को जोड़ने वाले प्रस्तावित बाईपास के साथ इंटीग्रेट होगा।

यह परियोजना क्षेत्रीय ट्रैफिक आवाजाही में काफी सुधार करेगी और जौनपुर शहर के अंदर भीड़भाड़ को कम करेगी।

Setting new global benchmarks in highway engineering 🛣️, NHAI has created history by achieving two more Guinness World Records in continuous Bituminous Concrete paving.

A record 156 lane-km of paving and 57,500 MT of Bituminous Concrete were laid continuously, surpassing the previous world record of 84.4 lane-km. Achieved across Package-2 and Package-3 of the 6-lane Bengaluru–Kadapa–Vijayawada Economic Corridor near Puttaparthi, this milestone was enabled by advanced machinery, robust logistics, and stringent quality control, with support from premier institutions like IIT Bombay.

Earlier, on 6 January 2026, NHAI had already set two global records on the same corridor by laying 28.8 lane-km and 10,655 MT of Bituminous Concrete within 24 hours. Under the visionary leadership of PM Shri @narendramodi Ji, these achievements highlight India 🇮🇳’s rising leadership in world-class highway infrastructure and large-scale project execution.

This clip which was shared with me is about Shri Inder Jit Singh Sidhu of Chandigarh.

Apparently, every morning at 6 AM, in the quiet streets of Chandigarh’s sector 49, this 88-year-old retired police officer begins his day in service.

Armed with nothing but a cycle cart and an unwavering sense of duty, he moves slowly and purposefully, picking up rubbish from the roadside.

He says he wasn’t happy with the ‘low rank’ Chandigarh got in the Swachh Surekshan listing. But instead of complaining, he chooses action.

Each piece of trash he clears is more than just litter removed. It’s a statement. A quiet, persistent belief in a better world. A belief in living with meaning, regardless of age or recognition.

In a world often obsessed with youth and speed, his slow but steady footsteps tell us that Purpose doesn’t retire. Service doesn’t age.
