THE TRUE MEASURE OF A MAN'S CHARACTER IS REFLECTED IN HOW HE TREATS WOMEN.

The Kuki-Zo community continues to permit women from Yaikongpao, also known as Tagramphung, and Daili to freely procure their daily necessities in Kangpokpi town. Kangpokpi endures as a sanctuary for individuals from all walks of life.

In stark contrast, the Tangkhul-led NSCN-IM narco-terrorists exhibited unparalleled barbarity, showing no mercy even to a five-year-old child, a woman in the third month of pregnancy, and a twenty-one-year-old woman who had ventured out to gather vegetables and herbs. More alarmingly, their elected representatives and various Civil Society Organization leaders continue to justify such atrocities.

This contrast, in its entirety, epitomizes the fundamental disparity in moral character between the two communities.

Kangpokpi, Manipur | September 13, 2026:
A woman was reportedly killed and two members of her family injured after an attack by NSCN-IM cadres at Tollen village in Kangpokpi district, Manipur, in the early hours of Sunday.

According to information provided by local sources, the incident occurred at around 4:00 a.m. on September 13. The deceased has been identified as Lhingzangai Singsit, wife of Pu Seineh. Her husband and son were also reportedly injured in the attack.

The incident has triggered renewed concerns over the security of civilians in vulnerable areas of Manipur. Local accounts have condemned the alleged attack as an act of violence against an innocent family and questioned the continued presence of armed groups in civilian areas.

The incident also raises questions about the commitment of armed organisations to peace and civilian protection amid ongoing efforts toward a lasting political settlement in the region.

This happened when Kuki communities across the globe are observing Kuki Black Day in remembrance of more than 1,000 Kukis reportedly killed during violence involving NSCN-IM in the 1990s.

EX CM BIREN SINGH AUDIO TAPES: WHY IS THERE STILL NO ACTION?

Till today, the alleged audio tapes involving former Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh remain a matter of serious public concern. Despite the seriousness of the allegations and repeated demands for an impartial investigation, victims and the public are still waiting for answers, accountability and justice.

The recordings have raised grave allegations concerning alleged communications involving armed groups and forces during the Manipur violence. If the tapes are genuine, their contents demand immediate forensic verification, an independent investigation and accountability under the law. If anyone has been falsely implicated, that too must be established transparently.

Silence cannot replace investigation.
Delay cannot replace justice.
Power and position cannot place anyone above the law.

We therefore call upon the Supreme Court of India, NIA, CBI, Government of India and all competent authorities to independently examine and verify the alleged audio recordings, investigate the allegations without fear or favour, and make the findings known to the public.

For the Kuki-Zo victims and displaced families, justice cannot remain only a promise. Every serious allegation must be investigated, every victim deserves justice, and every person found responsible must be held accountable according to law.

Till today: NO CLEAR ACTION. NO TRANSPARENT INVESTIGATION. NO JUSTICE.

JUSTICE DELAYED IS JUSTICE DENIED.
