@voxagonlabs Nice! Over at @L4tent, we are also training physical agents using RL. It's a lot of fun playing with physics, I love playing in these wind zones!
Interested in simulated characters traversing complex terrains?

I'm excited to announce the expansion of our research team at Latent!
We're looking for talented Machine Learning Research Engineers (Junior to Staff level) experienced in training virtual humanoid robots using GPU-accelerated physics engines. Join us!

Drivers of the Apocalypse dev day 191!
Prototyping machine learning based character ragdolls / locomotion.
While I have been working on the rest of the game, my friends at @L4tent have been implementing their character animation technology into the game for some reactive and dynamic characters.
I really like the characters being ejected from the vehicle on explosions!

Latent-powered characters experience the world in a physically grounded fashion, from slipping on ice to being knocked back by an arrow. These emergent interactions open up new possibilities in game design. Our agents run on-device in real-time, even on mobile.
Demo coming soon!
Over the last two years we have been building a new foundation for animation and interactivity based upon physics. In December we'll share our progress so far by releasing our first tech demo, the Latent Experience. Here is a teaser 🚀
This is how Latent feels in AR. It's uncanny to interact with characters physically for the first time, they truly come to life! A small example of the implications of a new foundation for interactivity and animation.
We're really excited to reveal some of what we've working on at Latent!
Introducing our new real-time animation technology based on physics and AI, where animation emerges as a consequence of interactions with the environment. No keyframes. No prebaked animations.
These are some examples of what you can build with Latent. 🧵
