LG has finally responded after being accused that their smart TVs are secretly recording users.

The company of course says its not true and the TVs dont secretly record conversations, the voice features only process audio when the user activates them with the voice button or a “word”

LG also says that network scanning is a normal smart-TV function used to discover near devices and enable some features.

But the problem is that LG’s own privacy policy confirms that its services can process information such as audio, IP addresses, network environment data and voice recordings in “certain circumstances” so yeah they are probably recording everyone and using it to sell your data or training AI

LG TV spygate is far worse than a simple data grab. Independent researchers confirmed these machines capture clear microphone audio while the screen appears completely powered down in standby.

EVEN WHEN PHYSICALLY DISCONNECTED FROM THE INTERNET, the television stores voice recordings locally on its internal drive.

Ambient room audio is converted into plain text logs, stockpiled, and immediately uploaded the second a network connection is restored.

Furthermore, the system actively sweeps the local network, mapping every phone, laptop, and smartwatch in the vicinity to build a comprehensive surveillance profile of the household. It is not just a screen. It is an active surveillance node planted right in the living room.
