Just learned that the reason people on the first 3 planes didn’t fight back on 9/11 was because prior to 9/11, most hijackings resulted in all the passengers being released after. They didn’t know they were part of a suicide attack. The 4th plane did which is why they fought back

Digitalisation is leaving many of our elderly people behind - and calling it ‘progress’. Banks close branches. Governments demand login apps. Local councils demand paying for parking on an app. Shops want QR codes. Customer help phone lines become an AI chatbot.

Elderly people built the world that we live in. Now governments, organisations and corporations tell them: download the app or lose access to society.

If society requires a smartphone, perfect eyesight and nimble handed digital fluency to participate, it isn’t progress. It’s discriminatory by design.

The reason tropical cyclone activity is suppressed has to do with (a) high levels of deep-layer vertical wind shear (i.e., change in wind speed and/or direction with increasing altitude) in the 250–850 mb (~5–34K feet) layer and (b) multiple plumes of Saharan dust moving across the Atlantic.

Shear suppresses tropical cyclone intensification because it tilts the storm's vortex, knocking its low-level center out of alignment with its mid- and upper-level convection. Shear also imports low-entropy (cooler / drier) air into the warm core, which dries the eyewall out, and causes the heat engine that keeps the storm organized to break down.

Saharan dust entrains into the eyewall, resulting in evaporation as relative humidity drops below 100%. Evaporation causes evaporative cooling, which forms downdrafts (sinking air) that suppress convection that drives the latent heat release that powers the storm.

I know something about difficult jurors.

During the Crazy Eddie trial, our jury foreman asked the judge to deal with a juror described as “nasty and screaming.” After the guilty verdicts, jurors expressed second thoughts and the press went to court seeking their names and addresses. The fight went to the Third Circuit.

But that was after a verdict.

NBC10 admits the Clancy jury list is still impounded. So it repeatedly went to the holdout juror’s home, contacted his relatives, aired dismissed allegations and even threw in his unpaid rent.

There was no verdict here. NBC10 is publicly working over the one juror who refused to give eleven other jurors, and NBC10, the result they wanted.

But I just watched this speech from @RobertKennedyJr and honestly can’t believe it hasn’t gone absolutely viral.

And it’s not simply the sight of a Kennedy speaking at a Republican convention. We’ve seen that before.

It’s hearing a Kennedy describe the Democratic Party he grew up in — the party of Franklin Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy — what he believes it stood for, and then contrasting that with what he believes it has become.

Then he reminds the audience what his father ran on:

“Tax cuts, strong defense, and fighting communism.”

And then comes the punchline that makes the whole moment land so powerfully.

Watch it to the end. I think you’ll understand exactly what I mean.

Whatever you think of RFK Jr. — and as many of you know, I think the world of him — there is something extraordinary about hearing this argument made by a member of that family, at this moment.

The Bible is basically a quantum physics textbook and I will continue talking about this.

Hebrews 11:3:

“what is seen was not made out of what was visible.”

That sentence was written nearly thousands of years ago.

Modern physics tells us the solid world around us isn’t really solid at all. Break matter down far enough and you eventually reach a level of reality that is completely invisible to us, but everything we see is built from it. Atoms, subatomic particles, etc.

In other words, the visible world we experience emerges from a deeper reality we cannot see.

Hebrews literally tells us not to mistake the visible for the fundamental.

I really do think the Bible has been telling us how reality works this entire time and we’re just slowly developing the science to understand it.

I spent more than 40 years as a teacher, and I remember September 11, 2001 like it was yesterday. Today, roughly a third of Americans weren’t even alive when those attacks happened.

Teaching 9/11 should not depend on the politics or personal preferences of an individual teacher. Every student should learn what happened, who we lost, the heroism we witnessed, who attacked us, and how that day changed our country.

If we expect young Americans to become informed citizens, we have to teach them their history. 9/11 belongs in the curriculum. Period.

Any teacher offended by the idea that students should be taught about 9/11 is proving exactly why it needs to be required. And if a legislator supports a law requiring every teacher to teach it, the problem is not the legislator.

We have forgotten far too much already. Just look at some of the people we elect, the things we now excuse, and the causes people take to the streets to defend, including those who openly celebrated the murder of Americans after 9/11.

Never forget means teaching the next generation exactly what happened.
