Muslim schoolboys tied to pole, assaulted in India's Maharashtra; police initially book victims

Three Muslim schoolboys tied to a pole and brutally assaulted by Hindutva group. Muslims boys aged between 13 and 15, were beaten with belts, electric wires and pipes by a group of men.

The accused allegedly claimed that the boys had stolen electric wires from their fields. The attack was reportedly recorded by one of the accused on a mobile phone, and the video later went viral on social media.

One of the victims’ fathers, who is also a witness in the case, said he and the parents of the other two boys rushed to the spot after learning about the assault.

“We tried very hard to stop them, but they turned on us and abused us. We were terrified that they would kill our children and we could do nothing. After pleading with them, we went to the police station, which is about seven kilometres away. The police immediately reached the spot,” he said.

Police said that officers intervened at the scene and physically rescued the boys from the mob. However, despite witnessing the assault, they did not immediately register an FIR against the alleged attackers. Meanwhile, at around 10 p.m., one of the alleged prime accused, Sachin Rautrao, filed a complaint accusing the three boys of theft.

Madhya Pradesh: After an old video (one month) went viral on social media showing a young Muslim man Suhail Khan being stripped naked and brutally beaten in Seoni district. Police initiated an investigation and have arrested 8 accused. Piyush Vishwakarma, Lucky Vishwakarma, Manjeet Raikwar, Sukhlal alias Dadu Yadav, Shubh Chaure, Abhishek Uikey, Deepak Dhurve and Abhay Uikey.
