Tamil has “avalam”: a quiet sorrow. Not dramatic —it is the ache of watching something fall apart, and knowing you’re powerless, choosing dignity over drama.
Like seeing Carnatic music get labelled “South Indian Lo-fi” on Spotify.
Tamil doesn’t cry out loud. It sighs in avalam.
All across Europe, from France to Russia, football fans are screaming in delight at that save by the Slovenian goalie…
“Oblak? Oui!” “Oblak? Da!”
(I’m so sorry)
@raunaksood99 What I realised in my reading slumps was that it wasn't that I couldn't read, it was that I lost interest in the books I knew of. So let the unknown unknown novel / graphic novel / manga / screenplay / audiobook find you.
@raunaksood99 Go through a lot of books. Stop midway, even at the first few pages if it doesn't interest you. Keep picking up, and putting down, and eventually you will find one that a) will feel like it found you and b) interest you. And you're reading again.
I need another book which is exactly like If on a winter's night a traveller by Italo Calvino but is not exactly If on a winter's night a traveller by Italo Calvino.
