How long before the biggest factor in determining the resale value of a used EV is determined not by age or mileage, but the HV battery health?
Which pre-purchase inspection provider will be the first to include degradation as a standard check? @TheAA_UK@TheRAC_UK@ClickMechanic
My parents still use my old Roland Rat lunchbox as a toolbox tucked under the passenger seat in their car.
I imagine if it were a Rishi Sunak toolbox it would contain tax cuts for the super-rich and a scribbled IOU for climate and welfare 🐀
@NissanUK@delearl3 I didn't receive an email and only learnt about this from social media. Many owners will find out the hard way.
Perhaps you could at least put some information about the shutdown on your FAQ?

Upgrade options?
Exactly which features will stop working?
Etc.
Data breach at @TNLUK. Well, at “a supplier”, but who? This feels like such a trend lately (see my timeline), why are third parties who have had data breaches constantly not being named?!
@bobbyllew So happy you've added an audiobook option to the rewards.
To everyone else who hasn't noticed yet, NEW BOBBYLLEW BOOK!

Changing Twitter to X, and Tweets to Posts etc is the dumbest idea ever.
When you say someone Tweeted something, the platform is described in the unique descriptive word. Now it's just a generic Post.
It's biblically level stupid.
you can perform an electromagnetic simulation of your #kicad PCB with #openEMS to see how your antenna performs! here I'm showing how the surface currents flow in a 2-layer PCB when driving an inv F WiFi antenna. And then you can render your results in Blender! Exciting times! @hackaday@JacquesLucke #b3d #Blender3d #geometrynodes #pcb #antenna @eevblog #electronics #Engineering #simulation
From some point today every episode of Red Dwarf will drop on BBC IPlayer. This is the first time ever all the shows have been available to watch at the same time in the same place. Let the Dwarf binge begin. #RedDwarf
A huge thank you goes out to @WhamBamSystems for their donation of two FBS print surfaces (inc. extra sheets) for our Tevo Little Monster printer!
Benchy printed in 2x scale at 0.4mm layer height in under 90 minutes! Silver PLA by @3DPrintzLtd
What's this? Why, it's a spiffy new variation on the #Babylon5 logo. It can't be for the reimagining 'cause that's on hold pending WGA issues, so what could it *possibly* be for? Hmm. Maybe we'll find out more one week from today.
Spread the word: something *wonderful* is coming
I've really missed the Flight Sim show at RAF Cosford these last few years. If there's anything the sim community can do to help bring it back in 2023, please let us know!

Coincidentally, Stuart Bell (Saab Unleashed) just released a video on the subject. As he mentions, it's not just head units; set top boxes, Smart TVs, etc. are also potential risks, especially as they're more frequently seen on the second hand market.

@Google/@Android Cheap automotive head units running Android are becoming very popular, and
receive no security updates. A significant number of owners will use their main Google account. How about a feature to designate such devices as kiosks, providing safe & limited access?
You know the manufacturers aren't going to do anything, and a compromised car stereo with canbus access can potentially do way more damage than identity theft. Nothing new of course, just a fast growing attack surface waiting for a headline.

This would essentially be a simplified user-friendly version of your BeyondCorp Enterprise endpoint verification device-based access levels tech. Ideally you'd detect devices without lock screens and suggest users enable this.
