I built a roofing company from one truck in LA, sold it to private equity, and ran it as brand president.
Then I bought a franchise of my own brand and went back to the ground floor.

Damn, they might really be the Chosen people.
@samterris Nothing amazing about adding to my cart. You and your team are amazing for building such an awesome product. Cannot wait to see it in action. Might f around and get one for myself 😂
Doctor's office checkup wearing my Bumble Roofing shirt.
Couple in the waiting room asked for my info after yesterday's rain. 45 minutes later an older guy stopped me in the elevator.
Two leads from one visit.
What's the most random place you've landed a job?
You know how when you climb over your neighbour’s fence, tie the husband up and force him to watch while you rape his children and his wife, then slaughter them with an AK-47, then rape their corpses, then murder him?
This is a direct consequence of doing that.
the hardest shift for trade owners is realizing that building a team to run without you is an accounting problem before it is a culture problem.
if the gross margin cannot absorb true middle management salaries without wiping out net cash, the founder stays trapped in the truck every time.
what was the first management hire that actually gave you real operational separation?
selling founders love staring at the rolled equity multiple on paper and ignore liquidation preferences and debt waterfalls.
when a levered platform hits a refinancing wall or a margin squeeze, minority equity gets wiped out first.
how many founders did you see model out the exit waterfall under a 20 percent margin drop before rolling their equity?
Don’t talk to me about “Palestine” until you’ve watched the full 45 minutes of October 7th footage like I have.
I watched the brutality. The murder. The deliberate cruelty.
Watch it in full, then look me in the eye and tell me you support the people who carried it out.
Some acts are beyond justification.
@bharathloka This is something I say to operators all the time. Follow the Fortune 500 companies and watch how they service their clients by finding and optimizing the easy levers. You don’t have to build some crazy tech, just show your customers you actually give a F**k about them!
Started Bumble Roofing with one truck and everyone said the same thing: roofing guys don't do white glove.
Sold my roofing company to PE. The customer experience is what built the valuation.
What does your trade ignore that your customers actually care about?
24 years old, DJing pool parties at the Palms in Las Vegas. Commissioned home service sales by day.
A customer knows in 30 seconds whether you're there to solve their problem or hit a quota. A crowd knows even faster.
What was your weirdest job before getting into business?
Two weeks owning a franchise of the brand I built and I'm up at 5am sketching contractor tools.
Most software in this space is built by people who never ran a crew or dispatched a truck.
Sold my roofing company to PE. Back on the ground floor.
What are you actually using?
Scaled from 1 truck in LA and sold my roofing company to PE.
Most contractors buy 20 wrapped trucks with heavy fleet debt. Then cash flow breaks when jobs stall.
Are you scaling your business with in-house crews or subs?
