This massive smoke cloud was all over Varthur yesterday. And caused much consternation and problems for residents all around.

The smoke is from garbage being burnt in a private property, which has been ongoing for the last few months.

Yesterday, the smoke and irritation was felt all the way in Ramagondanahalli too, despite the source area being ~2km away

It is illegal to burn garbage in Bengaluru. Complaints raised to BBMP are yet to yield results.

Marshals are on duty till 2pm, and this action mostly occurs at night. Yesterday, it happened during the day and residents were able to capture the video.

@BBMPCOMM thanks for opening Kundalahalli under pass. Big boon.Marathahalli over bridge went through repairs- debris from this and a worker shed is still lying on the bridge! The workers broke the divider and did not rebuild, this is now a U turn, causing jams. Pl help
