When writing a Dockerfile, choosing the best base image plays an important role and requires careful attention. I have written an article on how to choose the best base image for container applications.

Running Containers Like a Pro 🔽
One of the components behind Docker is called containerd. It is a daemon that manages the complete container lifecycle on a single host: creates, starts, and stops containers, pulls and stores images, configures mounts and networking, etc.
containerd is an ideal building block: Docker, Kubernetes, and many other projects rely on it under their hood. But you can also use containerd from the command line.
Here is why you may want to do it:
- Better understand what containers actually are.
- Master a few debugging and troubleshooting tricks.
- Replace Docker with a more lightweight alternative like Lima or nerdctl.

If you're using an EKS cluster with #Karpenter and #ArgoCD, you can optimize compute costs by scaling down the worker nodes during non-office hours. You can read more about it in my Medium article: https://t.co/TorWI1lU2i #Kubernetes
