On this day, 12 September 1977, Bantu Stephen Biko died in police detention at Pretoria Central Prison. He had suffered head injuries after being interrogated and beaten by racist police authorities. We remember #SteveBiko's selfless sacrifice to restore people to their humanity
Biko, the third of four children, had an older sister Bukelwa, an older brother Khaya, and a younger sister, Nobandile. Together, their names comprised a riddle: “Hayi ukuBukeka kweKhaya laBantu aBandileyo” translated into English “ We admire the expanded family”#RememberingBiko

A great man died today!. Sobukwe lives in everyone who carries his ideas in their hearts. He was a true leader of the African toiling masses. So feared was he by the apartheid government and because of that they separated him from other prisoners. #Sobukwe40
