@BCSDBrunswickMS students celebrated inclusion through sports last week joining area teams at Strongsville Middle School for a Unified Sports event. The genuine connections and friendships formed between athletes of all abilities showcase what makes this program truly special.
We are willing to share and allow his story to be shared because we believe that Mick is an inspiration with all that he has overcome! If hearing about our amazing son can provide hope to someone else going through a challenging time in their lives, then sharing is worth it!
Born with Down syndrome, Mick was diagnosed with leukemia and experienced a stroke.
With his care team, family and community by his side, Mick has faced his health challenges with positivity and determination!💪#ChildhoodCancerAwarenessMonth

Got the chance to celebrate Mick last night for finishing up his chemo treatments. Mick is a true warrior and I couldn’t be more proud of him! Somehow continued to keep a positive attitude through it all. Such a special young man! @BrunswickBball@BHSGoBigBlue
Had the great pleasure today to celebrate my favorite superhero, Mick McGinnis. Mick has “rung the bell” as he has completed his treatments. What an amazing young man!! Mrs Stanovcak @BMSStanovcak also joined the party! #MickisaWarrior@BCSDBrunswickMS@BrunswickCSD@BMSThompson
Running with Heart! 🏃Mick McGinnis continues to inspire our community! Despite receiving daily chemo treatments for leukemia, Mick recently completed a 5k with his mom. His determination and courage are truly remarkable. Last winter, Mick was part of a 16-student team from @BCSDBrunswickHS that raised over $85,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society during their Student Visionaries of the Year campaign. Mick's spirit and dedication remind us of the power of resilience and community support. Keep fighting, Mick—we're all behind you! #BrunswickPRIDE #JourneyOfABlueDevil #DedicatedToEXCELLENCE

🎗️Inspiration alert! 🎗️This past weekend, @BCSDBrunswickHS student Mick McGinnis was the Honorary Survivor at the Medina County @RelayForLife. Mick battled leukemia for several years and spoke to a huge crowd, inspiring everyone with his positivity and strength. Mick was also an important member of the Brunswick High School Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Student Visionaries of the Year campaign that raised $85,000 to help fund a cure and improve the lives of those fighting blood cancers. Mick, you show us what true courage and bravery look like! We are so proud of you! #BrunswickPRIDE #JourneyOfABlueDevil #DedicatedToEXCELLENCE
