On 02.07.2026, F Coy, BOP 900 Chain of the 61st Battalion, SSB seized 367 kg of suspected cannabis packed in 15 bags. One alleged smuggler was arrested, and the seized contraband and vehicle were handed over to the local police for further investigation.

On 15/06/2026, E-Coy, 4200 Chain, of 61 Battalion SSB, Bhairabkunda, under Balemu PS, West Kameng District, Arunachal Pradesh, seized approx. 277 kg of cannabis along with a vehicle used for its transportation and apprehended one person.

A delegation of senior officials from Bhutan visited 61 Bn SSB, Bhairabkunda on 12.06.2026 for an official interaction and coordination meeting. Discussions focused on border management, security cooperation, and strengthening cross-border coordination.
