Congrats to the 2023 Fellows at @WillametteLaw! Chris Henegan, Holly McBride, Christina Riess, & Kate Roberts are working at the @ORInnocence, Tulalip Office of Civil Legal Aid, @DisabilityRtsOR, & Legal Aid Services of Oregon. See all Fellows at https://t.co/DcdomYeR1q.
@BigRedCivPro A belated note: It might not seem so, but the Pacific Christian Advocate was probably the best option then - broad circulation # throughout the West & req'd by the trial court! See 17 F.Cas. 1279, 1285 (Cir Ct Or 1875). Not saying JM actually tried to notice Neff, but PCA was OK.
@stephdavidson You got out of town right on time! Last night's traffic in Portland (and, frankly, most of today's). Since snow management in the Northwest generally amounts to "Eh - it'll melt," when it doesn't melt, that causes ... Problems.
@DobalinaMissus @RoryLittle@steve_vladeck Yes, I recall the same thing - perhaps in connection with summary reversals? - but I've looked around a little and haven't come up with the citations yet. Will continue to hunt around.
I always enjoy this early introduction / review to jumpstart our new students' thinking about legal structure. The many great questions I had this year bode well for when class really gets rolling next week!
Our 1Ls are back for day 2 of orientation. Today we are kicking things off with a presentation from Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, @sjdprods! Dean Dobbins will be discussing the structure of the legal system. #WillametteLawClassof2025#WillametteLaw
