@ok6ixx My wife lost her wallet at a bus stop in Kyoto. The police station called our kid's Japanese preschool (the preschool's number was in her wallet) who then notified us the station was holding her wallet. When we picked it up, the yen was pressed and everything was organized.
@MichelleKinney@Delta Sadly every American carrier is like this, in my experience. They don't care about your property and evade responsibility always.
@tanner__wallace@ArtTakesNote FWIW, he has a very similar statistical profile (per 100 possessions) to both Maxey and Fox. Passed and shot better than both. I like his chances of being in that tier. Similar athlete / burst to the rim.
As a teenager, my life was peppered with uncertainties and anxieties about the future.
One day during my Sunday School class, my teacher shared a verse of scripture that changed my perspective and brought an infusion of light into my mind and heart. These words have continued to help me in many of life’s situations.
@briankeepsworth A person’s belief or membership in a given church is not dispositive of whether they are Christian. Our willingness to follow him, to be more like him, to love others, the presence of His spirit etc., are all more telling as to our relationship with Him.
@briankeepsworth I don’t know you. If you love God and His children you are Christian. If you do not love God or his children, you are not Christian—at least not in any meaningful sense.
@LloydColezone Accountability is good for the sport. It’s a public sport that doesn’t exist in its own universe. It’s supported by and impacts people and institutions. If you are influencing that public sphere in dishonest ways you should be accountable. More accountability, not less.
The Restoration didn’t add Jesus.
It restored access to Him.
Living prophets, priesthood power, continuing revelation, real covenants.
Same Christ. Same gospel. More light.
The Lord is preparing His Church and His people, those who bear His name, to receive Him. As part of our preparation for His coming, He will lift each of us so we may rise to spiritual challenges and opportunities unlike any seen in the history of this world.
How, then, can each of us participate in this work of such magnitude and grandeur?
When we take repentance as a joyful opportunity because of our growing faith that Jesus is the Christ, when we understand and believe that Heavenly Father hears our every prayer, when we strive to obey and live the commandments, we grow in our power to receive continuing revelation.
The Holy Ghost can be our constant companion. A feeling of light will stay with us even as the world around us becomes darker.
As we pray and grow our faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior and our Heavenly Father as our loving Father, we become a vital part in the Lord’s work as He prepares the world for His Second Coming.
Glad for nights to rest from my mistakes, for the opportunity of each new day to be better than I was, and for God who designed our lives with days and nights and who gave us a Savior to take away our burdens and give us fresh life.
My dear friends, no one is perfect in this fallen world. We will all sin and make mistakes. But this is not the end.
In the evening, when you kneel down and pray to Heavenly Father, ask for forgiveness, clear your heart, clear your mind, and clear your life through repentance.
Have faith in Jesus Christ, get a good night’s rest, and when you get up in the morning, you’ll find a new day. The sun is coming up again and God is giving you a new beginning on your path of discipleship.
The strength of the gospel and the power of Jesus Christ and His Atonement are the good news we all need to embrace.
@baby_maumau Two basic conclusions from the same journey: 1) Joseph Smith and others were flawed (shocker); 2) it doesn’t matter, the BOM is still the word of God and he restored his church through an imperfect person (because there were no perfect ones to pick from).
“Therefore, let your hearts be comforted concerning Zion; for all flesh is in mine hands; be still and know that I am God.”
God says to be still, so I will be still. I will not worry about the hatred in the flock. I will strive to repent and humble my heart. I know he is good
