< Reminder >
A lack of trust can shut down the "human resource" of your teams. It reduces the activity of the brain that does this=> strategic thinking, empathy, foresight, intuition, good judgment
I have heard from three different people in the last few weeks who have left jobs or are looking for jobs say “I just want to feel valued”
We can and need to do better at work.
I’ve seen people excel as rockstars in organizations after having been fired from previous ones. 1 I have in mind did the same level of work in both, but the latter encouraged, collaborated, and guided her strengths with internationality while the former didn’t try.
Also, I’ve seen organizations put large amounts of resources around areas the most immediately exposed operations, then fall apart years later because not enough funds were available to fix everything else that broke that contributed to delivering value.
I’ve come to agree with the Good Strategy/Bad Strategy paradigm. Good Strategy is not luck. It is also not a euphemism for “big picture thinking”. It has malleability. It understands value throughput. It understands what, for whom, and by whom value is created.
Iteration and churn are not the same thing. One is the result of a plan. The other is reactionary due to not having a plan. Iteration good. Churn bad...
@RMhigh7088 I completely agree with you. The unstated material is the material - and control is at the bottom. And what is the source for those principles anyway? I’m a student, and still can’t find anything but subjective source material.
