𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗪𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗵𝗲𝗱𝗲 🏟️ 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝘂𝗻𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗱.

Sport is such a beautiful emotion, it keeps the precious life enriching values embedded within our heart, mind and soul. Spending a day in a cricket 🏟️ is not just about witnessing a game, it gives you friends who turn into brothers for a lifetime with whom you’ve been unknowingly sharing the same bond all your life.

All 🏟️ across the globe may have their own charm, but Wankhede is something different in terms of an aura which promises to provide you with a spectacle that you’ll remember for the rest of your lives. Getting up and ready on match-days with a sparkle and belief in our eyes is a feeling that cannot be expressed in just words. Having those memorable train journeys to Marine Lines or Churchgate depending upon your allotted stands and getting a view from the 🏟️ from the outside is something which gives us an adrenaline rush.

From waiting in the long queues to get inside the 🏟️ to finally be seated with a “Straight View” (our @NorthStandGang most famously used term), it is a pure emotion which needs to be cherished and lived in between all these moments. We await our national anthem and once we’re done with it in picture perfect sync, we welcome the umpires followed by the players from both the teams. Pure goosebumps.

The loud roar you will hear when the bowler is at the start of his run-up with the umpire saying “Let’s Play” will be heard right till the nearby Churchgate station. Until this point, we are nicely warmed-up as well just like the players on the field.

If Wankhede stadium is an emotion, the North Stand has to be its greatest ever expression. Every cricketer who has ever played at this venue will truly vouch for this. The atmosphere built here is second to none and our shoulders never drop irrespective of the result being favourable to the home team or not. The reason behind this is we fans at the North Stand are always there to appreciate good cricket being played. We celebrated Virat scoring a majestic 235 vs 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 in 2016 as much as we applauded the brilliance of @AjazP taking all 10 wickets in an innings in 2021.

For me personally, our Wankhede stadium will be the most memorable as my first match out here was the one in which @sachin_rt scored his first and only ODI 💯 on 14th December, 1996. I couldn’t have asked for anything more from GOD because seeing this beautiful moment along with my father made it even more special. 💚

A cricket fan may have his own priorities when it comes to loving individual formats, but Test Cricket will always remain in the 💙 of a true cricket fan forever. Watching this format at Wankhede stadium is just like living our most beautiful dream. Every moment spent in those five days will enrich your life with memories.

From Sunny G scoring a majestic 86 in 1975 to many memorable Ranji Trophy matches to @RaviShastriOfc hitting six 6️⃣s to Dravid thanking us in 2005 to 🇮🇳 lifting the WC 🏆 in 2011 to Sachin bringing tears to our eyes to Kohli scoring his 50th ODI 💯, we have witnessed beautiful history unfold in front of us.

It has been our royal home to Mumbai, India and @mipaltan matches.

Here’s wishing @MumbaiCricAssoc and our Wankhede stadium a very Happy 5️⃣0️⃣th Golden Jubilee Anniversary and may GOD bless us with many more to come.

As they say, “Picture abhi baaki hai, mere dost.”

If Cricket is life, Wankhede stadium will forever have the most secured corner within our hearts with all these beautiful emotions.

We would like to appreciate our most deserving pitch curators & groundsmen for everything they’ve been doing all these glorious years in a manner in which we do it from the stands.

“I cut out all the noise - good or bad.”

When asked what was he thinking when he came out to bowl with a broken jaw, he remarked:
“My shoulder was still working. So I decided to bowl.”

When asked how did he manage to score a test hundred in the England tour of 2007 when Sachin, Dravid, Ganguly and Lakshman hadn’t managed to, he remarked:
“It took me 116 tests to predict the next ball of the bowler. And that day I got my predictions right.”

Seemingly obvious, intuitive, one may call boring answers - coming from a champion.
