NEWS As Democrats demand you pay your fair share, more than 571,000 current and retired federal workers did not pay their taxes and owe $6.3 billion to the IRS in fiscal year 2024, House Oversight finds. 50,000 current federal workers even had failed to file tax returns for two or more years. Plus 122 did not file their federal taxes for eight or more years, and many had not been referred for criminal investigation until the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration became involved.  

Plus, the $6.3 billion in taxes they owe is an increase of $1.5 billion (32%) compared with FY 2021.  And the number of federal workers not paying their taxes grew by 67,000 employees, or about 45% since 2021. This is what our society fails to comprehend.

If I work as a physical therapist, and I’m good, I’ll make $100,000/yr. And pay $15,000 in taxes. I can see 60 patients per week. But that’s the end of it. No additional tax money, no more patients can get my services. I provide a living for myself and my family.

If I own a practice and employee 10 therapists that each make $100,000, now I’m providing a living for 10 families, and because of my efforts there is now $250,000 in tax revenue.

So why should businesses get taxed more? Why should they even have to pay payroll taxes? My value to society is way more than 10X at this point.

But the vast majority of Americans can’t comprehend that, neither do our congressional representatives.
