@MorlockP @St_Rev @kendrictonn In my case, judging from the placement, the newer rock piles consist of rocks turned up during yard and driveway maintenance, and then piled in nearby locations.

Some may be cast-offs from rock hounds, mica and other minerals were mined locally in years past.
