The transcripts from the court case show that Rachel Reeves was advised January 2025 would be the most disruprive time to implement taxation on school fees, she was also advised it would adversely affect SEND children.
This was never about rasing money (as they can't demonstrate how much its made). It was never about having more teachers (because we've actually got fewer).
This was only ever about satisfying the far left of the Labour party. They hate capitalism, wealth, big business, indeed any independent success without state control.
They see independent schools as a totem to direct all that hate. That was and is the only driver behind the introduction of the policy to become the only country in the world that applies vat to education. They simply want to destroy private education for destructions sake.
This was Rachel Reeves face when she went ahead and announced that policy anyway. Knowing full well it would disrupt thousands of children and families lives.
That tells me all I need to know about what sort of human being she is. She is positively gleeful in announcing a policy that she knows will harm thousands of children.
She can f*ck right off, and when she's f*cked off, she can f*ck off just a bit more.
@Paul_J_Wharton@KimLahner@Angelcalling5 100,000+ children in independent school need SEND support , only 5.7% of these have an EHCP in place and only 16% receive any support. The majority are funded by their family with no support from the Local authority. These parents are now having to pay VAT for SEND.
@OldKyngeBoy@IsabelPat1886 This would potentially bring in more money than VAT on independent school parents due to more people contributing and with our all the negative impact the VAT on fees has created.
@OldKyngeBoy@IsabelPat1886 What about a similar system to the high income child benefit charge . So like this charge if you earn over £60k you complete a tax return and if you have children in state education you declare this and are then taxed a small amount.
@Northernmanv2@Barryburton97 @TomH_Analyst @janrosenow@FullyChargedShw So an aggressive driver can emit 5760 mg/km ? This works out at 5g/km and an average 20" tyre weighs 15kg. So at that rate presuming the 5760mg/km is for all 4 tyres you would have worn the whole tyre down including the tyre wall and just be left with rims after about 12000km?
From 2025, the UK Government intends to put VAT on private school fees. This may impact on RAF families. We will be submitting a response to a consultation on this change, and we want to ensure everyone’s voices are heard.

We were back on your screens on Sunday night! It may have been short and sweet but we are so proud of all the pupils that took part in the filming of Happy Valley at Rishworth School last year.
Wait... that little red car looks familiar! #whosdriving#happyvalley#rishworth
Happy Valley (series 3) is back tonight on BBC1 at 9pm. Set in and around Calderdale, much of the filming took place close by, with some of the action actually being filmed at our school with 29 of our students, parents and staff as extras! #rishworthschool#happyvalley
It was a pleasure to welcome rugby star @KeeganHirst to Rishworth as part of our #PrideWeek celebrations.
Keegan shared his own experiences about becoming the first rugby league player to come out as gay, in what was an engaging and uplifting talk. 🙌🏳️🌈 #pride#keeganhirst
