#OnThisDay in 1485 King Henry VII (Henry Tudor) was crowned at Westminster.
Henry had been King since the death of Richard III at the battle of Bosworth on 22nd August that year.
#OnThisDay in 1066 at the place we now call Battle (near Hastings) an army led by Duke William of Normandy eventually defeated the Anglo Saxon army of King Harold Godwinson. The battle raged all day before William gained the upper hand when King Harold was killed in the fighting.
#OnThisDay in 1399 Henry Bolingbroke was crowned King Henry IV at Westminster Abbey. He was the first - and so far, only - English monarch to have been born in Lincolnshire.
Many of you are asking why the enforcement of the S106 agreement to hand over the Freehold made between Buckinghamshire Council and Comer isn't being enforced.
S106 agreements are legally binding and the development control team at Buckinghamshire Council can enforce the terms.
@BucksCouncil when are you going to force Comer Group to comply with the planning permission at Newland Park so Chiltern Open Air Museum can have the freehold as promised. Perhaps you can even 'encourage' them to remove the concrete block obstructing the overflow car park too?
@comerhomesgroup when are you going to comply with planning permission at the Newland Park development and give the freehold to the Chiltern Open Air Museum? #ChilternOAM
Loving the new look Nottingham Castle #CastleNottingh1

#OnThisDay in 1305 Scottish knight, rebel and troublemaker Sir William Wallace was executed for treason at Smithfield. The Wallace monument near Stirling is worth a visit, though the famous 'Wallace sword' is a fake. See what his sword was really like at https://t.co/0utGbKFS4N
