Pregnant Woman Dies After Five Hour Delay at Chamoli Hospital, Referred Too Late

A pregnant woman died in Chamoli district on Monday after being kept at a community health centre for nearly five hours without a specialist before being referred to a higher facility, where she was declared dead on arrival.

35 year old Sarita Devi, wife of Narendra Kumar from Kurad village in Tharali block, was brought to CHC Tharali at around 8:30 am in labour pain. Family members allege that despite hours of treatment at the hospital, she was not referred in time. She was finally sent to Karnprayag by 108 ambulance around 2 pm. She died before reaching there.

Chief Medical Officer Dr Sanjay Gupta said the patient was treated by Dr Amit Rudra and was referred because no gynaecologist was available at the hospital. He said an investigation has been ordered and action will follow based on its findings.

Family members and local residents have expressed anger over the delay. Former Kshetra Panchayat member Bhaskar Pandey has demanded a fair probe and accountability, saying the shortage of specialist doctors in hill hospitals continues to cost lives.

Sarita Devi is survived by her husband and two young children.

पिछले दिनों भारतीय नाविक राकेश चौहान की वेनेजुएला में संदिग्ध परिस्थितियों में मौत हो गई.

अब राकेश का शरीर यूपी के देवरिया में उनके गांव भेजा गया.

घर वालों ने पोस्टमार्टम करवाया तो पता चला कि बोडी से ब्रेन, हार्ट, दोनों फेफड़े, लिवर, किडनी और कई महत्वपूर्ण अंग गायब हैं.

परिवार का कहना है कि ऑफिस से जानक���री मिली थी कि राकेश जहाज पर गिर गए हैं और उन्हें चोट लगी है, जिसका इलाज चल रहा है.

फिर दूसरे दिन बताया गया कि 95 प्रतिशत बचने की उम्मीद नहीं है.

फिर शाम को राकेश चौहान की मौत की खबर आई और कहा गया कि 60 दिन में शव मिल जाएगा.

बहुत मुश्किलों के बाद राकेश का शव भारत आया, लेकिन भारत में डॉक्टरों ने पोस्टमॉर्टम करने से इनकार कर दिया.

परिवार ने डिस्ट्रिक्ट मजिस्ट्रेट से गुहार लगाई, वहां से आदेश होने के बाद पोस्टमॉर्टम हुआ तो पत�� चला की शरीर से अंग गायब हैं.
