@robbyrussell Functional Programming in Java. I was traumatized by the way I learned Java and avoided it for years until this book changed my mind. It was almost spiritual.
@LukasLiebich Struggling to take book notes +1 I'm experimenting with writing down a quick summary on post-it notes & stick it on the side of a book when reading and come back later. On kindle I just over-highlight and come back to the list of highlights to take more formal notes.
@mr_mig_en Yea it also scares me that some people think it's okay to report people just because they disagree. It's 2022 and I can't believe this is the reality we're living.
@bkono101010 Wow json-to-go makes it so easy 😯 thanks for the tips I’ll check out the encoder/decoder too. Yea I’m handling nested json 🥲 just trying to read some api responses is it too much to ask
@jrtheobald lol I don't. I still google how to do a file IO every time I need to😅 I think it's understanding the problem/error & knowing what to google instead of blindly trying things the most important part.
@calonso Big yay for me 🙌🏼 For a while I struggled with taking notes & keeping my focus because I listened to them while doing other stuff. Now I treat audiobooks the same as physical books & have my laptop open for notes when I listen. Good alternative when it’s too dim to read etc
@AliAbdaal has been journaling for years, @mattdavella has a journaling for 30 days video, @RyanHoliday also has his take on journaling from a stoic pov.
Here's how to start journaling and make it stick:
@AliAbdaal@mattdavella@RyanHoliday 4/ Use prompts
If you just don't have anything to put down, you can use prompts like:
• things you're grateful for
• what scares you and why
• what's something you want to do but never take the action
