(it) GCEs (StCustards c1950) in growling barking umpire-biting as any fule kno. Pla left midfield for old custardians - wot does he think i am the arsenal chiz
@RoyHenderson Radio 3 announcers used to be clear. Now many of them seem to indulge in gabbling the ends of their sentences while suddenly dropping their voices in 'throwaway' style. I guess this is meant to sound informal and chatty but it's irritating and difficult to follow

Yes but this article is about the New Testament and it should have been made that clear. It didn't say anything about who scribed the Old Testament, which is the larger part of the Bible and (ironically?) was partly authored by slaves (e.g. Moses, Daniel)
London borough of Richmond is ‘happiest place to live in Great Britain’ https://t.co/ojopAuO6fx Yes lovely bit of London. Pity about the appalling aircraft noise (Heathrow is just down the road). When I taught there, I had to stop mid-sentence every minute or two.
@lane_cycle@fredacowell@MetCycleCops@MPSDulwichVllge You can add Rosendale Road to that. Some guys are still using the road for their personal best speed trials, in spite of large '20 mph' signs recently installed along this new supposed 'Quietway'. Farcical.
@Miss_Snuffy@marksandspencer What is she on about? There are non-sequiturs at almost every point in this ridiculous letter. What are 'Christmas values'? A pastiche of religious mumbo-jumbo, consumerism gone mad, horrendous kitsch, guilt-driven charity, booze and carb bingeing and commercialised nostalgia.
@johnmcdonnellMP Why stop with the Covid scandal? There's #Grenfell too. And how come everyone seems to have forgotten that the huge Tory cuts which have been affecting almost every aspect of British life, go back to David Cameron and George Osborne?
Why has HS2 ended up being so expensive? https://t.co/T77yviWNfO A friend on the senior inside of the rail industry always tells me that expensive private consultancies are rife and continually push costs upward, making effective budgeting difficult or meaningless.
@hernehillforum No mention of non-TfL rail services which are actually, more important to rail-users in many parts of https://t.co/jyhiL6N5gC than the 'skeleton' network of TfL train services.
@Arsenal Quite funny seeing Rashford taking shots at Ramsdale at the England training ground only a few days after Rashford put one past Ramsdale in the Arsenal-ManU game.
But as any railfan of French railways will tell you, France sacrificed many local train routes for the sake of prioritising their HST network, just like British Beeching did but without a HST network. More rail fun now in Italy, Switzerland and Germany.

@RoyHenderson@BBCBreakfast And I'm fed up with the fairly recent trend for BBC radio announcers and presenters to suddenly speed up their diction at the ends of sentences while dropping their voice away at the same time. Perhaps it's old age, but for me it's infuriatingly difficult to follow them.
@RoyHenderson So true. My rant too over recent years. The tech companies are so huge and powerful that there seem to be no mechanisms or instruments that can reign them in. Adobe infuriating, followed by Microsoft. Apple just about OK but e.g. wrecked me when they pulled the plug on Aperture.
@ChirpyChet A typical bit of Tory blag straight out of the BJ playbook. Maybe she misread her notes and meant that 95% of our *bath* (not bathing) water is clean (before we've bathed in it of course).
@Cardiffguy2022 When we cross London from the A41 at Golders Green in https://t.co/2K3zJXg4tZ to home in Herne Hill in https://t.co/jyhiL6N5gC (11.4 mls) the ≤20mph limit applies throughout, yet when we get to our own street there are no limit signs and the speed loonies roar past at ≤ 50mph
