The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible.

@Reuters Retatrutide's 28.3% weight loss at 12mg (and climbing) is impressive as hell.
But supply chain, manufacturing scale-up, and global reimbursement will decide if this becomes another tirzepatide-level blockbuster or just another hope.
New Anthropic Science Blog: Making Claude a chemist.

@Reuters Dropping -3.8% (forecast was -2.0%).
After a strong March rebound, this is a clear warning sign. Weak demand in Europe + geopolitical risks are hurting the German economy.
Recession fears coming back?
@BusinessInsider No sinister ulterior motive — it's a smart strategic play.
SpaceX is giving retail up to ~30% of the IPO (vs usual 5-10%) to create massive hype, broaden ownership, and build a loyal base via easy access on Robinhood etc.
Kubernetes migration almost killed our startup.
Where we were:
- 8 EC2 instances
- Ansible for deploys
- Boring but working
- $1200/month AWS bill
Why we migrated:
- New investor wanted 'cloud-native'
- Engineers wanted K8s experience
- Competitors were using it
- Seemed like the future
6 months later:
- 3 engineers spending full-time on K8s
- AWS bill at $4500/month
- Deploys took longer than before
- More outages, not fewer
- Product development stalled
We rolled back:
- Moved to ECS Fargate
- 2 week migration
- Back to $1800/month
- Engineers back on features
K8s is amazing for scale. We weren't at scale. Technology should solve problems you actually have.
