Bleeding, wounded, and facing grave danger, he pressed on with extraordinary courage, engaging the terrorist at close quarters and eliminating the threat, ensuring the success of the operation and the safety of his comrades.
For this act of exceptional gallantry, indomitable fighting spirit, and supreme devotion to duty, he was awarded the Kirti Chakra.

Incidentally on the fateful day as a Security officer , Vayu Bhawan I was on roof top of Vayu Bhawan,MOD, watching Parade when news of this disaster was transmitted.
