note: there's a whole lore behind this reply so bear with me. there's a russian novel by iven turgenev called 'unrequited love' (i'm not too sure of the english title but this is the translation of the korean title) and in futabatei shimei's japanese translation of the novel, he translated a sentence which meant 'i love you' to "i'd be happy to die", the original russian dialogue also wasn't "i love you" but "i'm yours" but the nuance of both meant 'i love you', which is why sometimes when people confess their love by saying "the moon looks beautiful today", the other person replies with "i'd be happy to die" to mean 'i love you too'
