@CharlesDardaman VT sandbox is part of it, for sure... And very useful if you need to scale up (1000s of samples!) and not waste time on already known virus. After that, for the samples you need to investigate further, you can go down the manual rabbit hole with Cuckoo, ollydbg, masam, ...
