The only Power 4 teams in all of college football without a loss to an unranked opponent since the end of 2022:
- Georgia
- #Mizzou
End of list. Every other program has lost to an unranked team at least once in the last 3.5 seasons, and all but Indiana in the last 2.5 seasons.
There’s a pretty simple explanation for that UT photo.
For years, the top 6% of Texas high school students got automatic admission to UT. Now it’s the top 5%. It’s completely colorblind. It’s just class rank.
Asian kids are about 5% of Texas graduates, but roughly 21% of the kids hitting a 1180 SAT/24 ACT benchmark. Absolutely kicking ass.
And UT’s own numbers make the “foreign students” explanation pretty hard to square. Only about 4% of UT undergrads are international students.
What we’re looking at is immigrants and the children of immigrants doing all the things YOU SAID you wanted immigrants to do: come here legally, work hard / succeed academically, and assimilate into our culture.
Check. Check. Check.
I’m starting to think your problem with this picture might be something else entirely....
That team went 11-0, finished #5 in the AP & #4 in the Coaches poll & beat the #4 ranked team in the Orange Bowl. In an era of split and disputed titles, a perfect season and a major bowl victory over a top team is more than enough reason to stake that claim. They earned it. 🐯
These guys are such losers. Wielding scripture as your weapon to be bigoted towards others and then hiding behind it when pressed on why you can’t just let a marginalized group have their night of celebration. Love thy neighbor though, right?
This is unreal. Bari Weiss is already Editor-in-Chief at CBS News, and has made more than a few controversial decisions. Now, if the Paramount/Skydance merger with Warner Bros Discovery goes through, she will apparently oversee editorial direction for both CBS and CNN under a single corporate umbrella.
How is one person supposed to effectively lead two newsrooms of that scale? Especially someone with such limited broadcast experience? Her background is in print OPINION writing, not hard news reporting, yet she may be handed the keys to two of the largest broadcast journalism operations in the world.
This is exactly why massive media consolidation feels so corrosive. It concentrates enormous editorial power in the hands of a single corporate-approved favorite & risks diluting journalistic standards across multiple platforms.
State antitrust regulators are already moving to block the deal because of how unprecedented this level of consolidation is. But the fact that an executive could even attempt to give one person influence over both networks is, frankly, absurd.
