“The @VP fabricated a rationale for the assassination of Charlie Kirk with the intent of going after his poltical foes…He created a fake story and I don’t think anybody knows about it”
I don’t understand why this isn’t a massive news story
I’m so sick of this.
This is the world’s richest man and one of the most famous people on the world
The post he’s complaining about has zero likes and zero retweets.
How did a right-wing influencer even find it before anyone else? Now the Elon tweet has 13 million views.
Musk is a cancer on the public discourse. It’s difficult to imagine a person with more reckless disregard for the truth.
How can anyone calm things down with this movement? 100% of Democrats condemn the Kirk killing. Still, they’ll find a post with zero likes and zero retweets, which a right winger maybe posted for all we know, declare war on half the country, and get tens of millions of views for it.
There’s no hope of anything better with Elon poisoning public discourse along with the right-wing influencer space he’s plugged into.
Shapiro: We know he was of the left.
Maher: We don’t know shit Ben… I’m hearing he’s in group that think Kirk wasn’t right wing enough— the groypers. You’re sure he’s not that?
Shapiro: I’m not sure he’s not that.
Maher: A few seconds ago you were.
This is Dean Withers
He is probably 100% opposed to Charlie Kirk's politics, and he is rightfully upset and showing empathy to Kirk's wife and kids.
Those who want to paint this horror onto everyone on "the left" need to think for a moment and realize that most people don't celebrate murders.
This isn't left vs. right. It's right vs. wrong, and the human decency most of us have vs. the actions of a violent sociopath.
Don't let the murderer win
There is one person in the country right now who has the power to lower the temperature on the violent and vitriolic rhetoric that is coursing through our political veins. Rather than take the opportunity to do that, like Biden did when Trump was shot at, Trump took to social media to make political attacks on the left while absolving his own side of all responsibility, all before even knowing who the shooter is.
See you guys at the next shooting, can't wait for conservatives to act as befuddled about that one as they are about this one.
In the last few years we've seen:
- The plot to kidnap Gretchen Whitmer
- The Storming of the Capitol and pipe bombs left at the RNC and DNC
- The break-in to kidnap Nancy Pelosi and the brutal on Paul Pelosi
- Multiple assassination attempts against Trump
- The assassination of Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband and the shooting of on State Senator John Hoffman and his wife
- Luigi Mangione's assassination of Brian Thompson
- The assassination of Charlie Kirk
Political violence is contagious. It is spreading. It is not confined to one side or belief system. It should terrify us all.
The foundation of a free society is the ability to participate in it without fear of violence. Political violence is always an attack against us all. You have to be so blind not to see that.
I don’t believe “the left” is responsible for this, just like I don’t believe “the right” was responsible for the shooting of the Minnesota politicians.
Sorry, if you pick Trump as your leader, you’ve forever lost the moral high ground on the “we should be more civil” take.
@KoryEWoods they can't trade him. no team wants to take on his salary because its just too much for what he provides at this point in his career. waiving him and forcing him to inevitably take less money was the only way.
