For the first time in nearly five years, response times didnโt go up, they went down.
In 2024, we reduced response times across all priority levels:
๐ Priority 1 (urgent): โ 4.3%
๐ Priority 2 (non-urgent): โ 5.8%
๐ Priority 3 (low priority): โ 38.3%
Year one of our four year plan. This marks real progress and itโs only the beginning.
We remain committed to improving our response times and serving our community better, every single day. Thank you to all of our civilian police professionals and sworn members.
London saw a 48% reduction in gun violence last year. That progress reflects the work of our members, investing in prevention, applying strategic enforcement, and working alongside our community to tackle gun violence together. #Londonpoliceservice#Progresss#Change
Losing a member in the line of duty has rippling effects across our membership and the broader policing community and our city.
ย
Detective John Park was a gentleman.
He was a dedicated member of our Hold Up Squad with 14 years of service and performed his duties professionally and with integrity every single day. He was 40 years old has left behind a wife, and two young children.
ย
The TPA will work with the Service to provide whatever support Johnโs family, friends and colleagues require during this incredibly difficult time.
ย
We all owe John our respect and our gratitude.
Gearing up for retirement, LPS Community Foot Patrol officer, Constable Doug Schmidt took his son, OPP Constable Dave Schmidt for a walk-along downtown and in OEV. What a special day! Thank you both for your service and dedication to public safety! @lpsmediaoffice@OPP_WR@OPP_CR
Speaking from experience - the LPS is an amazing service to join as a serving officer.

Our thoughts are with the victims & their families. The swift & professional response of our officers ensured that the suspect was taken into custody without further harm to the public. This incident, like many others, highlights the unpredictable & often dangerous nature of police work. Our police service is committed to ensuring the safety of every citizen & visitor. Thank you to our members and all of our first responders for their professionalism.
On behalf of Deputy Chiefs McIntyre & Bastien, our Senior Leadership & the LPS, we extend our deepest gratitude to Debra Dodds. This week marks an incredible 45 years of service as a civilian dispatcher. It is the nature of the call-taker & dispatcher role that often their efforts remain in the background, unseen by the many people they help.
