Since @educationgovuk announces the change to the Pupil Premium calculation date Iβve been trying to highlight the issue & the impact it will have on schools
Threads Iβve done attracted over 2000 RTs, questions have been asked in parliament & articles appeared in numerous papers
@Tesco Further, can we get a refund on the delivery saver we pay for, and have done some the first lockdown since we've not been able to secure deliveries, and when we have, still have to risk going to store to finish the shop off?
@tesco as a loyal customer who, frankly, spends too much money in your store and also as a delivery saver, can you drop this 95 item nonsense?! I am a family of 6, it goes nowhere and still forces us to the store.
@Tesco Yes, you see that insinuates that I'm ordering things that aren't essential doesn't it? Which is difficult when I have 4 children. Each 4 eat 2 apples and an orange a day. That's 12 items gone on fruit alone. So whilst I appreciate your valient effort, why only Tesco doing this?
@spikemillican You also didn't pick up on the subtle difference between a small classroom that people must stay in, or a supermarket where, as you say, police can be called to chuck them out if required.
Don't have that luxury in education.
@spikemillican That's very specific.
If hundreds of people are in front of a shop worker, the shop probably needs to review its risk assessment.
Did you know most teenagers don't want to wear masks too? Many when have medical reasons and therefore don't either.
The Tories refusing to close the schools in case itβs labelled as a u-turn. Labour refusing to back it in case itβs seen as a concession to the unions.
Our political class is treating a public health crisis as if itβs a public relations exercise.
@mumbleslfc No. There's nothing quite like using celebrity status to influence masses on subjects which you're not an expert on.
She is correct regarding fatality rates, but not transmission. That's what is most misleading here.
And in what seems the blink of an eye, I now agree with a person who can't do maths and puts shoes on the wrong feet.....

More blatant misrepresentation by @BorisJohnson He appears on #marr this morning insisting that schools are safe. But forgets to mention that his own scientists told him that you canβt get on top of #COVID19 without closing schools @NEUnion
I know closing schools is problematic.
But, simple point. If we want to we can compensate for educational gaps if we want to. These kids have their whole lives before them.
What we can't do is bring their grandparents, teachers, or in some cases parents, back to life.
We should stop using the language 'close schools'.
Instead we must focus on the true danger here; mixing hundreds of people from different areas, in to one confined space.
The data is clear, the risks are clear.
#MakeSchoolsSafe

@GawainLittle@NEUnion@BorisJohnson@unisontheunion I love hearing from people who don't work in schools, comment on how safe they are.
Yes, measures are in place. Of course they are. But we are working with children and teenagers.
Need any more be said?!
