Our final SleepaWeek NYC workshop is Freezestylin, where you may find that getting comfortable creating badly is what unlocks creating well. Through wordplay and singing games, you'll leave with quicker, easier access to your own creativity.
Friday, Sept 4, @ 7pm. Tix below ↓
Relational-based spaces for processing can be a great way to unwind those "generator functions" because a lot of the unconscious patterns that lead to stress only run, and are easiest to loosen, around other people
There's 'short term rest' like touching grass, breathing , etc
And 'long term rest' that actually unwind the generator functions of stress. Things like retreats (meditation, Hoffman, AoA, etc). These also make your short term strategies more effective

@MomaBera You don’t have to agree with an emotion to listen to it. Let it exist, figure out what fear or need produced it, then decide whether it deserves action. Emotions are information, not instructions.
Join us for Conflict as a Compass, a workshop for anyone who wants to handle conflict without reciting scripts, giving in, or walking away. You'll leave with new tools in your toolbox and real practice using them.

Join us for This Room is Full of Baddies, a workshop where bad is the new good. Everything you think is bad about you has a beautiful purpose. Don't believe us? Let's let some badness out of the box and find out!

We can also learn to meet the people in our lives with open-ended, agenda-less questions when they’re struggling with something, instead of rushing to offer solutions and fix what’s wrong.
A lot of us have never received undivided, agenda-less, purely curious attention from their parents/family (or anyone for that matter)
We’ve only received the kind of attention from them that wants something from us (even if it’s *to see us happy* or something seemingly pure)
Join us for Silly Sad Strange Humanity, an evening workshop where we'll explore how varied and strange it is to be human and see each other a layer or two deeper than usual.

A person realizes, mid-conversation with a new partner, that they are giving an answer they gave before, almost word for word, to someone entirely different, about something they thought they had long since resolved.
The realization is disorienting. The person is not the same person they were in the previous relationship. The circumstances are different. And yet here is the same answer, arriving with the same weight, in response to a different question that somehow reached the same nerve. The pattern did not leave when the relationship did. It simply waited for the next environment with the right conditions to surface it.
Join us for What Fills My Cup, a workshop for people who have gotten a little too good at running on fumes. Come try a range of practices for resourcing yourself and take home whichever ones work for you.

A lot of feeling safe is really our ability to hold hard feelings and experiences as objects in our awareness, rather than fundamentally identifying with them.
