Linux file permissions look confusing at first, but the logic is actually simple.

r = 4 → Read
w = 2 → Write
x = 1 → Execute

They’re grouped into:

User | Group | Others

So rwxrw-r-x becomes:

7 | 6 | 5

That’s why you’ll often see permissions written like:

chmod 765 file.txt

Once you understand the 4-2-1 system, Linux permissions become much easier to read.

If Amazon and American retail are getting squeezed by Shein and Temu I don't think there's any momentum in Nigeria to withstand them

Already more urban customers in Nigeria are getting fixated on Temu and Shein. This will only grow because prices are fair

And for those who will say "let's manufacture our products" 😂 I laugh

Here is the simple truth. Every major factory in the global south will shutdown and bow to Chinese automation. Argue this again if you want.

Small scale manufacturing is the only pie we can eat from. Small scale fabrication. But anyone with the dreams or owning a huge factory for production in Nigeria is wasting money and time

China will swallow it. You cannot match their automation and subsidies.

We are already seeing it with Nord and Innoson. Who is buying from them? No one. Buyers will prefer a BYD which in some cases will be cheaper to Innoson or Nord.

I had recommended what should be the focus for Nigeria if we want to grow wealth. Human capital is the way out

Revamp the education system . Both vocational and academic. Knowledge is the next scarce commodity.

Knowledge will be the next gold. Applied and chiselled knowledge. That's the next gold mine. Train Nigerians for it

Pump money into academic research let's begin to own inventions, modifications and innovation. Book will save us. Only book. The era of factories is dead and gone.

Grow human capacity

This is the kind of conversation I want more families to eventually have.

Starting out your career in Application security is not as hard and as complicated as you think, I found my own easy way of kearning it and understanding what it entails.

Firstly finish you web fundamentals, including understanding protcols and what they do like DNS, HTTPS, SSL/TLS, FTP, SSH etc and also their port numbers.

Understand the OSI & TCP/IP Model like your career depends on it because it actually does depends on it.

Now move on to setting up your homelab (VirtualBox/ VMware), learn Linux fundamentals and know it well. This also serve as your first project, do this, document it and post it on your medium page.

Then move on next to the OWASP TOP 10, & OWASP API TOP 10, understand both and know the similarities too e.g Broken Access Control in web and BOLA in API are the same. know it and know peace.

Now move on to Burpsuite, devtools , cURL, & Postman, these are for testing & inspecting web application and APIS and all concerning testing for web and API vulnerabilities.
