We just dropped Restate Java SDK 2.8.0 with new tracing support
Building Restate apps using #SpringBoot? Got ObservationRegistry already setup? Just bump the SDK and you get durable handlers tracing for free.

Webhooks that just work with @restatedev
✅ Event persistance - let Restate acknowledge and persist the event
✅ Reliable processing - leverage Durable Execution to run until completion
✅ Idempotency - use Idempotency-Key to deduplicate

We are super excited to make Restate Cloud publicly available today.
Durable Execution, observability, and production-grade availability for workflows or AI agents.
This release makes very smooth to work with serverless compute platforms like @Cloudflare, @vercel, or @deno_land. And of course, your own infra on AWS, GCP, or Kubernetes.
Signup is free and a few clicks with your GitHub account. A new built-in tutorial let's you run a first durable agent running in seconds.

I wrote a piece on building 𝗗𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 using durable execution, communication, and state in @restatedev.
It matches so well, it still sometimes feels too good. The approach works with popular frameworks like @aisdk and @OpenAIDevs agent SDK, or even with roll-you-own stack.
It requires just a few lines to get 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗼𝗯𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻-𝗶𝗻-𝘁𝗵𝗲-𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗽 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁, and 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶-𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, into existing agents.

"If you need durable execution (and you probably do for production AI workflows), use a proper durable execution engine, not checkpointing as an afterthought."
This is it. Afterthought means time lost debugging in prod, rather than focus on product.
Serverless is great, until you need to manage state. This is where Restate comes in!
Learn how to combine @KnativeProject with Restate to build serverless applications on Kubernetes that are not only scalable, but also stateful and resilient. 🧵
