2/ After a lower court excluded the key Chatruletka video from evidence on privacy grounds, the NSW Court of Appeal has overturned that ruling. The prosecution's most important piece of evidence is now back in play. https://t.co/OzXRwkJTGv
After a report was filed with York Regional Police regarding the Toronto Police’s Project Olive Branch Muslim podcast that likened the October 7th terrorist attacks for the increase in Muslim conversion, a year and a half later the investigation has concluded.
Under Section 10(1) regarding police conduct, the allegation is substantiated and Officer Farhan Ali, Officer Harron Siddiqui, Sgt. Rich Sidhu, Sgt. Michael DaSilva, and Sgt. Maggie Mastrokostas will be facing penalties from the Professionalism Committee.
In Buddhism we understand that every action comes with a consequence. Due to my decision to stand up for my Jewish friends I am losing a few people from my life. Today I parted company with Tony Pontius who has run my record label BGP for a number of years. I wanted to release 'We Will Dance Again' but he was unequivocal and said 'I want nothing to do with this song' and I responded 'ok, we are done'.
When someone is gutless it really does not hurt to say goodbye. My faith in humanity will not diminish and the truth will always win.
I will release it!
More than empty statements, the crisis of Jew-hatred demands political courage to name what is driving this wave of hatred, even when doing so is uncomfortable.
It demands enforcing the law against those who intimidate, harass, vandalize, and attack Jews.
And it demands the honesty to acknowledge that too many leaders, institutions, and media outlets have normalized rhetoric that dehumanizes Jews and excuses violence against them.
Jewish Canadians don't need assurances that they belong. They need a government taking action to ensure they can live openly, safely, and freely as Jews.
Watch closely new video showing the U.N. reaction: as courageous former hostage Ilana Gritzewsky confronts October 7th denier Reem al-Salem—by recounting the horrific abuse she suffered from Hamas—the U.N. rapporteur on violence against women sits there stone-faced. No empathy.
@BBCWorld This so-called UN "report" is lacking one important factor: evidence. There is not one verified example of Israeli forces targeting a child as such. Not ONE. See rebuttal below which I wrote for UN Watch. https://t.co/OIflWPp7tZ
“…if you know anything about international law & you scratch the surface of this latest report even a little, there is only one legitimate conclusion. This report is all hype, no substance. There is little - if anything - the authors get right about international law as it actually exists in doctrine.”
@BrianCox_RLTW exposes yet another nail in the coffin of the post WWII rules-based international order - that has been systematically hijacked, redefined, inverted, & weaponized to a raging unconventional war of barbarism vs civilization.
This is inversion so callous it's hard to believe.
The Holocaust had a survival rate of about 30%. Millions of people disappeared from European cities and towns over several years. Everybody knew because it was happening all around them.
Gaza has a survival rate, despite the worst and most deadly and horrible periods of the war, of 97%.
All the dead Jews were noncombatants. A large percentage of the dead Gazans were combatants.
And the Jews of Europe, even as their millennia-old civilization was being systematically wiped out, wanted nothing from the societies that surrounded them except to be allowed to live in peace.
Gaza's leadership of religious fanatics, meanwhile, wants every last Israeli dead and gone, is willing to fight to the last Gazan to achieve that aim, has said so publicly and worked for decades to blow up every peace attempt -- and even now believes that Gaza's destruction would be a worthwhile sacrifice to lay on the altar of Israel's destruction, because their god told them so.
So Israelis can reasonably believe, given those features of the Gaza war that aren't true about any genocide ever, and were pretty much the opposite of what was happening in the Holocaust, that Gaza's suffering is a bad and painful war, but not remotely a genocide.
But the point of it all, of course, is not to analyze Gaza, but specifically to lump it together with the Holocaust -- to cast the Jews as the new Nazis.
The only reason this person would dare to make such an insanely ahistorical and immoral parallel is because this is the heart of the bigoted propaganda campaign in which he enthusiastically participates: The point of it all is to make the Jews into the Nazis.
A culture that obsessed about Jews being evil and was then shocked by the Holocaust into obsessing about dead Jews as the apotheosis of righteous victimhood is now obsessively engaged in knocking Jews off that moral pedestal they themselves put them on.
That's why they don't care one whit about Hamas massacres of Gazans, about genocidal wars in Syria or Yemen (even when they've funded and armed the sides), about flotilla activists currently held by the Libyans...literally nothing triggers a response except Jews.
They still, even after all these generations, no matter what else is happening in the world or in their own societies, can't stop thinking about Jews.
And as we Jews learned in the 1940s -- the actual, historical 1940s, not the weird fantasies conjured up by these bigots -- a whole society can be in the grip of a callous, destructive bigotry and still believe it is true and righteous.
Carney has unveiled a new council to combat antisemitism in Canada. The lineup includes a former Liberal minister who is a Muslim, a DEI executive who is also Muslim, a progressive lawyer interested in social justice issues who represented pro-Palestinian encampment activists, an LGBT activist, and an Olympic speed skater.
Only one member is Jewish: Senator Marc Gold, has a long public record in Jewish communal and pro-Israel advocacy.
Seems like expertise in antisemitism was considered optional. If the goal was to reassure Jewish Canadians, this is a bizarre way to go about it.

@brivael As a post-secondary student in the 90s (in Canada) Foucault and Derrida were fixtures in essays and political correctness was a weigh station en route to wokeism. That weigh station failed to remove the bloat of overweight ideas, birthing dogmatic ideology - and here we are.
They are not rationalizing violence against Jews because they believe Israel is doing evil; they are accusing Israel of evil in order to rationalize violence against Jews.
The accusation itself becomes psychological license by which ancient resentment can masquerade as virtue.
@Loster@OzKaterji@BillCar26144462 No. It LITERALLY says “ a Counter Terrorism Policing investigation into two men stabbed in #GoldersGreen” I’d point out your lack of reading comprehension - but it’s really just selective editing.

If your country has freedom of religion, but members of one religion need to pay millions on security just to safely gather, then your country does not have freedom of religion.
Hide them in cemeteries, and cry foul when the cemeteries are destroyed! After taking multiple bodies of deceased Israelis into Gaza following its horrendous October 7th attack, Hamas made the atrocious and despicable decision to hide dozens of them in Palestinian cemeteries in the coastal enclave, particularly in the north. This was immediately picked up by Israeli intelligence and turned what should be the spiritual resting place of the dead into another battlefield of the horrific war that ensued. The IDF, either deliberately, recklessly, due to bad intelligence, or operating with little to no information, went into multiple cemeteries and destroyed them while searching for bodies and remains of deceased Israeli hostages. This included the Al-Falluja Cemetery in Jabalya, northern Gaza, where my dad, Dr. Fouad Alkhatib, was buried – his grave is among those that were desecrated and destroyed by the IDF, ostensibly while searching for the remains of Israeli hostages.
Still, there’s immense irony, symbolism, and meaning to having the body of the last Israeli hostage recovered from a Palestinian cemetery. Who is responsible for placing it there and inviting the devastation of the cemetery? Why did Hamas and PIJ think it was acceptable to place dead Israelis in a sacred space that meant so much for hundreds of thousands of Palestinians? Can dead Palestinians be spared from Hamas’s terrorism? How could two extremist Islamofascist groups tolerate burying a non-Muslim in the heart of a Muslim graveyard, which is governed by strict Sharia rules and requirements?
You can criticize Israel all you want, and hundreds of millions have been for the past two years. But at the end of the day, there is only one, and just a singular party upon which the blame falls squarely for bringing Israeli military occupation and devastation onto Gaza; only one party that permitted itself to operate in schools, hospitals, shelters, tents, displacement zones, used mosques, cemeteries, kindergartens, markets, NGOs, journalists, ambulances, and humanitarian workers to conduct guerilla warfare – and that is Hamas.
That is why it is criminal even to contemplate going easy on the terror group and allowing them the opportunity to be recycled into Gaza’s future. Hamas as a brand must be eliminated, destroyed, annihilated, and prevented from ever operating as a cohesive body, even if its ideology remains, and even if some of its mid and lower-level personnel are somehow rehabilitated.
