ppl blame social norms and religion for these types of parents but a lot of it is simply rooted in jealousy. They didn’t get to experience the same kind of freedom and fun at that age so they try to limit and shame their child. In that way I feel a sense of empathy.
Parents in Japan want their sons and daughters to be boring like them and watch generic variety shows and take away what little joy they have while studying for exams and then wonder why they never see them again as soon as they reach 18.

Because of white supremacist governor @RonDeSantis and the racist @Moms4Liberty this history can’t be taught in FLORIDA where it happened because it will make white kids feel bad.
