From October 8, 2022, a new express train will be added to the service between #Colombo and #Anuradhapura. This train runs only on weekends and public holidays. All carriages of this train are air-conditioned.

The #Colombo Fort - #Kandy Weekend Intercity Express train which is currently out of service will be back in service from 8th October on every weekend and public holidays.

Train number 8338, which runs from Beliatte to #Galle at 6.30 am, will start its journey at 6.20 am from October 1st. An additional carriage will also be added to this. #slrail #srilankarailways

@vg123e Thanks! I corrected the schedule in a comment. This was actually originally run from Vavuniya. The timing problem happened only after it was extended to KKS. After this, there are trains from KKS to Colombo at 5.30 am and 9.00 am.

Different types of reservable seats are available on SLR trains. Tickets are issued for carriages with these seats only for the number of seats available. Note that the facilities of these seats may vary from train to train as SLR now has different types of carriages.
