It is once again time for #SciCommSeptember! This year, let’s talk about how paleontologists do field work. Since my speciality is marine invertebrate paleo, I’ll be discussing that; other paleo folks please feel free to talk about your own methods!
Hey Melbournians! If you missed my comedy routine about boneless fossils earlier this year, never fear, a repeat performance is here!
Please join me and some other immensely talented (and funny) scientists, 15 October, at 7:30!

Thank you to all who supported me in the recent #3MT finals round at @MonashUni ! It was great competing with so many talented researchers (and justifying my theater kid background 🙃). Hope you enjoyed hearing about old bug bodies 🦀🦐🐜! #SciComm#paleontology#FossilFriday
Congrats to @shannonwkaiser on his recent authorship on this fabulous froggy Nature paper!!
It was such an honor to do a degree alongside this talented fellow ☺️.

I just won the Faculty of Science round of Monash Uni’s #3MT ! Wow!! Can’t believe that I had this opportunity, and such good competition as well. Thanks @Monash_Science and to all who helped make this possible!! See y’all at the next round 💪😤
SAM is such a valuable repository not only of knowledge or fossils, but those who work with them. These folks are invaluable- fight to save the SAM’s science!
Looking forward to this! Come see me on Friday night at 8pm, if you want to learn about weird bugs, the science/religion of the Long Lobster, and more!
@PPaleoartist @zhombah If you’re sure! I think it can be good to showcase folks like you that are up-and-coming locals as well. All the same, well done!
A little more field work done in scenic Strahan, TAS! We were mapping outcrop, collecting samples of plants and ambers, and generally enjoying some lovely sedimentary structures. Hoping the amber we collected yields lots of pollen and bug bits!
