Starlink 🇿🇼 Zimbabwe
Satellite networks account for ~31% of Zimbabwe’s internet traffic — compared with just ~1% globally.
Even more striking:
Starlink traffic is ~4× TelOne’s.
3× the combined traffic of all fibre ISPs outside Liquid.
Starlink isn’t just filling the connectivity gap in Zimbabwe — it is becoming a major part of the country’s Internet infrastructure.

AI is top of mind for every national leader, every tech leader, practically every human.
There's never been a moment like this in the history of humankind.
Jensen Huang calls it: “The greatest technology revolution of all time.”
The SpaceX team never ceases to amaze me! Incredible work. And a thank you to all of our partners around the world.
This capability has already made a difference for so many who needed to connect with loved ones or emergency responders during natural disasters, and it’s critical we continue the work to ensure people can stay connected globally.
@WillarShoko MNOs will be very eager to strategically use DTC for those rural under-served low population dead zones. It's no brainer with real win-win, even for regulatory universal access mandates.
All @Starlink Direct to Cell Gen 1 satellites have now been launched. Congrats to the team to get to this milestone.
We are able to partner and provide satellite cellular coverage in a short number of weeks for any new telco around that world that wants to eliminate dead zones in their country to provide texting and lite data to unmodified mobile phones.
@starlink Direct to Cell service is now live in Japan with @au_official customers (free for now) on over 50 phone models. Islands and waterways are covered as well.
@WillarShoko In most cases, last mile is bottle neck by product design for maximum commercial gains and not by lack of capacity. That is why in SA, every now and again ISPs double FTTH capacities with no price change and refuse downgrades within contract, forcing underutilisation
I am creating a dossier of all the times Zanu has publicly threatened people.
I will create content with this and we can push it to make sure that we also show that ZRP has not addressed these issues. And if this is the direction they want to go they also have to maintain the same standard of operation.

Dhara @bbmhlanga is sadly spending 2nd night in custody 💔
I am angry and sad at the way Dhara is being treated. After hearing the matter most of today the Magistrate defferred the matter to 27/02/25 for ruling. Sadly Dhara will be in custody till Thursday when the ruling will be handed down on his bail application.
Blessed is being punished for interviewing Blessed Geza on his call for President Mnangagwa to step down. It also appears that the @HStvNews interview with Jelousy @mawarirej on the shenanigans at POSB upset some powerful people. Dhara appears to have stirred a hornet’s next by revealing the brewing scandal at POSB. Dhara is not the criminal in all this. He is simply doing his constitutionally protected duties as a journalist.
Thank you Zimbabwe for turning out in such big numbers to support press freedom and freedom of expression which are so vital in any democracy. Your right to receive information and express yourselves are under attack. #JournalismIsNotACrime
