@IonaItalia@Romy_Holland I'm doing fine - 20 years on I'm a bit of an outlier in terms of how little it's affected me. But not having dependents to worry about definitely made it easier - not least because its easier to put worries about the future out of mind and enjoy the present.
@Dr_W_E_Bulmer@tc1415 I've enjoyed stays in A through F, though I have to admit in the last couple of years, I've really come to appreciate E in late September for an extended play summer
@ABosiack@ianlcohen@Steven_Hyden As someone who hadn't really understood the appeal of Morby up to now I agree - far and away the best thing he's done.
@Dr_W_E_Bulmer@TheAttleeStan Having spoken to the person who led the project it was more down to it not being big enough. I've been inside (it was briefly repurposed as a live music venue) and the debating chamber is tiny
@Dr_W_E_Bulmer@MerryOlEngland Likewise, taught in some detail by Mr Holmes (later MP for Chesterfield) and I remember it as one of the more interesting bits of history from school.... don't remember it being 'unsafe'
@Dr_W_E_Bulmer@NeilShenvi Exactly ... why would I want to be 'ripped' ? I'm physically reasonably fit as a consequence of cycling and walking a lot which I can do outdoors rather than in a bloody gym...
@iantdawson@Artemisapphire They won the title with Mercedes engines (though I'm old enough to have been there when Prost took his first title at Brands Hatch in a Mclaren Porsche. )
@IonaItalia It's more corporate astrology than male astrology... I remember describing it thus to someone promoting it at work and being told "that's such an INTP thing to say". Fwiw, some of the nonsense I've read around the tactics of sports betting strikes me as male astrology
@Dr_W_E_Bulmer@ithacarising Wonder if perhaps that was never the reality - at least outside of Oxbridge and maybe two or three others. Have read novels about disgruntled academics in provincial universities going back to the 50s....
@sebastianbaughh Fair point. I have tinnitus and I reckon late 90s V10s are at least in part to blame. Especially the 1999 Mugens, which were just painful to listen to...
@OneManSaas@BMJYorston Or if it turns out that 1/100 was your best guess going in, but you realise how bad you are at it and update your priors...so maybe 1/500?
@Dr_W_E_Bulmer@tomhfh True, although I wonder if it because we are an aged country and older electorates are less enthusiastic about development spending...
@Dr_W_E_Bulmer@tomhfh Although if we were a US State, we'd also have the highest life expectancy and the the lowest homicide rate. Be careful not to throw the baby out with the bathwater...
@wearetherace@XPBImages Startling just how long his career has been. Imagine if a driver had started before Clark won his first GP and was still going when Senna won his first GP...
@TheBishF1@Motor_Sport Think that's fairly indisputable - while I don't rate Mansell quite alongside Senna and Prost, I can't think who else would be the candidate for 'third best'
