The sad trombones are playing for Amy Coney Barrett as she tells the woeful tale of her child learning what a bullet proof vest is after Barrett donned such a vest in the wake of the SCOTUS leak that preceded the Dobbs decision — oh and she’s been swatted - womp womp. Of course the MAGA Multiverse has crawled out of the woodwork to decry the “Violence of The Left”.

Political violence is wrong. Full stop. Amy Coney Barrett shouldn’t be swatted, threatened, or forced to wear a bulletproof vest.

But the selective amnesia here is breathtaking.

The same people now declaring a national emergency over threats to one conservative justice spent years shrugging as Democratic officials faced bomb threats, swatting, arson, assassination attempts — and, in Minnesota, the assassination of Melissa Hortman. Josh Shapiro’s home was set on fire. Pete Buttigieg was swatted and separated from his children during the police response.

Let’s also address the baldfaced hypocrisy of the conservative justices who lied about overturning settled law, and constitute an illegitimate majority as a result of Mitch McConnell’s actions to deny court appointments by Democrat Presidents!

And never forget this illegitimate majority has been a major factor in creating the state of hyper-polarization and rot of American democracy with their documented corruption and bestowal to the mad king Donald Trump his unlimited power and immunity.
