@BlackMajikMan90 so when are you going to acknowledge and blame James hiring Ana Noguiera for THREE DCU PROJECTS with 0 film writing credits to her name and calling the Supergirl script incredible when that was the biggest flaw of the movie?
@BlackMajikMan90@loud_lex the writing has been shit on significantly more than the directing, and Gunn explicitly said the script was incredible and attached Ana to Wonder Woman. Gunn's judgement is a huge problem for the DCU
@BlackMajikMan90 it literally says Gunn took control of post-production and that is the cut that people are hating in theaters right now, so it actually puts most of the blame on Gunn.
@BlackMajikMan90 kinda what happens when Supergirl is you most anticipated movie of the summer lol and forcing yourself to not be excited for what will be the best two movies of the summer, The Odyssey and Spider Man.
@BlackMajikMan90@Danixpn I do, which is why it's funny you're crying about ownership. demanding a physical revocable license to play a digital game that they can shut down whenever they want anyway is ironic
@BlackMajikMan90@sfsstudios1 Kevin Feige does indeed get the blame because everyone knows he is in charge of the creative process and the directors have very little power in the MCU. same thing applies to James Gunn, and he is responsible for giving Gillespie a bad script and signing off on the edit.
@miracleman29@BlackMajikMan90 I don't think pointing out a moment that ruined the entire third act is that silly, especially when it's become such a major talking point and Gunn himself has criticized third acts in the past. but yes, that is the real criticism.
@Steele131@BlackMajikMan90 producers have a lot more power than directors in most instances actually, and Gunn is no ordinary producer, he is a studio exec in charge of every creative decision in the DCU.
he gave Gillespie a horrible script, and had final say in the edit. he is at fault
@ResonantJustice correct. now they are scapegoating because they want to keep pretending that Gunn can do no wrong, when he is 90% responsible for the movie failing.
@BlackMajikMan90 for someone that claims to be a socialist, you sure do love capitalism.
predicating your decision to buy a game on secondary markets and private ownership goes against your self-proclaimed beliefs.
and they can still stop you from playing a disc anyway.
@BlackMajikMan90 so you're saying that the movie would be considered good 8 years ago because general audiences were more susceptible to liking bad CBMs.
not exactly a compliment, and luckily audiences are smarter now and can identify a bad movie when they see one (The Flash, Supergirl, etc)
it already made the $3M tho. it would've dropped under $1.5M the next weekend regardless of digital release, so the $1M it made after streaming isn't too far off. it was never going to keep the screens past Easter weekend, so it was the right move to put it on digital so they could capitalize during the holiday.
i agree with you regarding reviews, but it wasn't just the review bombing. it wasn't a big enough success with the general audience. i was definitely sure about $200M, but in the worst case scenario legs it would've done ~190.
