I have the same question. I genuinely think this is negotiable, depending on what exactly is being transferred and how that fits into regulatory frameworks on both sides.

A better question might be: if there is knowledge transfer, will the receiving countries be able to re-industrialize? Is it the knowledge and know-hows what stop them from bringing manufacturing back?

-61 companies are publicly traded or filing IPOs in Hong Kong or mainland China, total valuation of which are ~$250B.
-$12B fundraising and 332 fundraising news in first half of 2026 alone.
-Average time from inception to IPO filing is 9-11 years (so they all started roughly in 2015).
-Shenzhen has the most robotics companies, followed by Beijing, Shanghai and Hanghzou.
